Choose Your Weapon Game Review

Choose your weapon is an interesting game on a few different levels. Set inside of computer monitors on the desktops of different operating systems, the plot pivots on a virus (personified by different Sticks) that invades all of the world’s computers. Using various weapons, you must fight off the virus incarnates and fend off the takeover of computers everywhere.
At the beginning of the game (before, if you want to be technical) you watch the development and subsequent invasion of the World Wide Web by the Stick viruses. After this short cut scene you wind up in a Windows XP machine, tasked with eliminating the first wave of Stick beasties.
Obvious but Fun!
Choose Your Weapon is a game based on just that: choosing weapons. As you move through the levels, you encounter different Sticks. Different weapons can only defeat certain Sticks. In order to advance through the levels, you must pick up the weapons littered around the levels so that you can defeat the Sticks and unlock the portal to the next desktop.
Individual levels are divided into physical levels, often with different types of Sticks on them, requiring the use of several different weapons to clear the danger. Once acquired, switching weapons is only a matter of typing in a number on the keyboard. Once the corresponding number is pressed, that weapon is now ready to fire.
With a press of the Q or A keys, the weapon fires. Also, seeing as though you play as some sort of monkey secret agent in this game, pressing W or S allows you to use your tail to knock down the Sticks temporarily.
Choose Your Weapon is a low budget success. With an interesting concept and just enough difficulty and challenge, this game manages to bring a console feel to the medium of Flash games.
