Parkour Stickman Game Review

Parkour is one of the more challenging games here on Stickman Games. A game full of obstacles, the need for good timing, and even a police chase it seems to have everything a gamer would want in a small flash game.
Parkour thrusts you into a chase from a police officer who is just on your literal coat tails. As the chase continues, obstacles start to appear in your way and you need to use your parkour skills to jump over and otherwise avoid them. Obstacles range from felled trees, holes in the ground, and metal bars that appear in the forest. (Damnit, EPA, do your job.) Annoyingly enough, the police officer can just walk straight through all of these as if they did not exist in the first place.
There are several different combination moves that can be used to dodge these impediments. There is the simple jump, the right jump, the under-jump, and the wall-run. All of these different combinations have different uses. The under-jump (technically the underbar) allows the stick man to jump under bars (how revolutionary). The wall-run allows him to run a little ways up a wall, the right-jump (the monkey) is a forward-propelling jump used to jump over stumps and such, and the simple jump is just a regular, no frills jump. All of these jumps are combinations between the arrow keys and the spacebar.
The level of difficulty that the object that Hipster Stick (who else does Parkour?) needs to clear is displayed on a one to five star scale in the upper left hand corner. Different difficulties award different point values. Performing combination moves also boosts the total amount of points awarded.
Performing all of these moves is very difficult, mind you. The controls take a long time to grasp. Timing is everything in the game and moves need be performed in just the right timeframe to avoid Hipster Stick taking a face plant. Confusing controls and unclear directions contribute to an overall huge learning curve. This game has the potential to be fun, but fun should not be inhibited by horrendous controls.
RATING: 2.5 Sticks
CONTROLS: Spacebar for simple jump; Spacebar and right arrow key for “Monkey”; spacebar and down arrow key for “underbar”; Spacebar and up arrow key for “Wall Run”Parkour,
