Speedrun Stickman Game Review

Speedrun is a great game for those of you who love a really simple, challenging game. There is no doubt that when playing this game you will get that annoyed twinge in the back of your head. As a matter of fact, even while writing this it is still there in my head! Speedrun is frustrating, fast paced, challenging, but also addictive for some odd reason. You will not want to admit defeat and after seven times of plunging to your death, you will keep going simply because you just know that you are better than a simple Stick game.
The goal of Speedrun is simple: Run as fast as possible through the stages and die a minimal number of times. However, what is simple in theory is nearly always harder to do in practice. The levels are a mishmash of broken landscapes and elevated targets. You will die if you do not land on a target in just the right way. Trust me; you will die at least three times your first time through.
Though the goal is to race as fast as possible through the various landscapes, it is just not prudent to go through the areas at full clip. The faster you go, the harder it is to control the Stick’s movements and the more likely it becomes to overshoot and plunge down into oblivion. The best advice available is to value control over speed. Your time may be a little longer, sure, but the deaths also destroy your score.
The game splits into many levels with a final “Boss Stage.” The levels are varied and it is clear the developers did their best to not bore the player with the same old same old each level. The goal of each level is to obtain a small star “hidden” within it. This star allows you to finish the level and unlock the next. Often, there is a springboard in order to reach the star, which is in mid-air.
Speedrun is a great game and you will probably lose track of time while playing it. This game offers a great challenge for the more patient folk among us. It is not a simple game by any means, but it is oddly satisfying to reach that golden star while only dying once.
