Stick Figure Smash: Christmas Edition Game Review
January 14, 2012
By Maxwell J. Provo
Stick Figure Smash: Christmas Edition is nothing that needs a second glance. Not long ago I wrote a review for its parent game, Stick Figure Smash. This game is nothing different from that. There are no improvements and, just like its partial namesake, it sucks.
The goal of Stick Figure Smash: Christmas Edition is to smash the Santa Stick in two different ways. The two ways to play are Life Mode and Timed Mode. Life Mode gives Santa Stick a certain amount of health and it is your job to fling him into walls, the ceiling, and the floor to deplete that health and get your points based on how quickly you destroyed him.
In Timed Mode, you have forty-five seconds to cause Santa as much damage as possible. The more presents that pour out of the sack, the more score, so says the game’s instructions. The highest amount of points that I managed to scrape together was 39,900. Someone in Sri Lanka has 188,880 points. Apparently, there is simply nothing to do in good old S.L.
Controlling the Santa Stick is easy enough. Click and hold him with your left mouse button and drag him around, whipping him at the ceiling and other barriers to cause him bodily harm. There is another method of dealing out the damage points that players of the original Stick Figure Smash should be familiar with: the spacebar. If your cursor is near enough to Santa Stick, press the Spacebar and a shockwave will deal out mucho hurto to Santa. Even with quick mouse hands and spacebar fingers, getting enough points to rival Mr. Sri Lanka is a formidable challenge.
Stick Figure Smash: Christmas Edition is not a game that you should even bother to click on unless you are really, really pissed off. In that case, it does make a good frustration valve. But not for very long. After a few minutes of venting your anger and a Stickman Santa Claus, you are just going to feel even more frustrated with the total lack of amusement, control, and game itself. Nearly three-thousand people have played this game though, so maybe it just shoots crack out of the screen. Crack shooting or not crack shooting, this is not worth it. Try Stick Figure Smash 2 instead.
